Young Women Speak Out: Report
This report for the Canadian Advisory Council on the Status of Women, documented the events that took place during the 1992 symposium “Widening the Circle”.
The client had provided a large number of photographs that she wished to include in the report. She also wanted the design to reflect the participants of the symposium, in her words, I don’t want this to be another dry government report!”
I don’t want this to be another dry government report!
Ok, challenge accepted. At the time the government of Canada had stipulated a mandatory “no frills” policy. This meant no full-colour printing, no glossy paper. I decided to use these limitations to my advantage, focussed on bold type and irregularly-shaped images to lift the content off of the page.
