Icreated this logo for Eagle, which is a headhunter specializing in IT. I worked on this on a freelance basis for Chris Lawson at DesignCo. Eagle is still using this logo, although they have modified it a bit removing a few of the feathers on the back of the head.

The problem here was the word “eagle” is imbued with obvious American connections. So whatever I did had to work without overt “stars and stripiness”. One of my sketches (yes, I usually start with pen and paper) had the germ of an idea where the head of the eagle formed the negative shape of the lower case “e”. I worked it out in Illustrator trying to get a balance between the letterform and the eagle’s head. The lettering for the rest of the wordmark was in Rotis sans.
